Groundwater Sampling
EST’s experienced field chemists routinely collect groundwater samples from hundreds of public and private sites annually, including municipal landfills, industrial properties, and retail petroleum locations throughout the Northeast. EST has extensive experience with the collection of groundwater samples in accordance with the US EPA’s Low Flow Purging and Sampling Procedures. In order to provide the most reliable services available, EST maintains an extensive inventory of groundwater sampling equipment, including a variety of pumps, flow-through cells, and multi-parameter sensors. Our equipment is routinely calibrated to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and reliability. EST coordinates all laboratory services, including bottle order requests and sample delivery. After each groundwater sampling event, EST will perform a QA/QC review of our field sampling records and chain of custody documentation to ensure accuracy. Finally, a field summary report will be generated which will include personnel on site, weather conditions, static water levels, final stabilized field measurements (i.e. pH, temperature, conductivity, ORP, and turbidity), and any other significant information and observations.

Case Studies
Waste Management, Inc. – Water Quality Monitoring, Turnkey Landfill, Rochester, NH
Waste Management, Inc. is the largest waste management company in the United States. EST provided water quality monitoring and related field services at the 1,300-acre Turney Landfill site in Rochester, NH.
Pease International Tradeport, Portsmouth, NH Long Term Environmental Monitoring
Pease International Tradeport was developed as a result of the redevelopment of the former Pease Air Force Base which was closed under Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission action in the late 1980s and early 1990s. As part of an extensive environmental remediation effort, comprehensive environmental sampling programs have been established to monitor the movement of plumes containing chlorinated solvents, heavy metals, PCBs, and other contaminants. As part of this initiative, EST performed environmental sampling and monitoring services at the expansive site over a six-year period.
Republic Services, Inc. – Water Quality Monitoring, Massachusetts Landfill Sites
Republic owns or operates 195 active landfills in the United States including several in Massachusetts. EST provided water quality monitoring and related environmental field services at Massachusetts landfills in Chicopee, East Bridgewater, Fall River, Halifax, Plainville, and Randolph. EST’s services included field measurements of static water level, pH, temperature, conductivity, oxidation reduction potential (ORP) and dissolved oxygen prior to sample collection.
