New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, Winnipesaukee River Basin Flow Monitoring Program

The Winnipesaukee River Basin Program (WRBP) is a state-owned system in the Lakes Region of the state that includes 14 wastewater pumping stations, approximately 55 miles of large diameter interceptor sewers and a wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) in Franklin, NH treating an average of 5.5 million gallons of wastewater per day. EST performed flow monitoring at 12 permanent locations and 4 rain gauge sites throughout the collection system. This program was part of WRBP’s effort to update flow-based cost recovery plans for operations, target the removal of inflow/infiltration, and assist with capital project planning and wastewater flow management. EST’s flow monitoring installations were equipped with wireless telemetry to facilitate real time data acquisition by means of a password protected website. Services included: installation, maintenance, and calibration of flowmeters, data hosting, and report generation.  All work was performed in accordance with EST’s corporate health & safety requirements and applicable NHDOT and OSHA standards.
